The aim of the course
This course is intended to pass the candidate pilot all the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills
required to operate the A320 family to the standards required by PART-FCL.
The course is intended for:
- Commanders for an A320 family-type rating
- Co-pilots for an A320 family-type rating
- Co-pilots for an initial type rating on the A320 family
Pre entry requirements
In order to commence the A320 family Type Rating course, the candidate pilot must fulfil the following
requirements:
Commanders
- ATPL License
- 1.500 hours experience on multi-pilot aeroplanes
- 500 hours experience as commander on multi-pilot aeroplanes Co-pilots
Co-pilots
- CPL License with multi-engine Instrument Rating
- Having a type rating on a multi-pilot aeroplane
Co-pilots for the first type rating on a multi-pilot aeroplane
- Have at least 70hrs of flight experience as a Pilot in Command on aeroplanes
- CPL License with multi-engine Instrument Rating(A)
- Have passed the ATPL theoretical knowledge exams as per-FCL. 515 ATPL
- Hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of a multi-crew cooperation course(MCC) in aeroplanes
- Have completed an Advanced UPRT Course according to FCL.745A
Structure and time scale of the course
Theoretical Knowledge Instruction:
- Aircraft systems self study aprox. 80 hours
- Aircraft Systems Training and exam 5 days
- Mass & Balance 4 hours
- Flight Planning and Performance 4 hours
- Adverse Weather procedures 2 hours
- A 320 Operations Manual 3 hours
- A 320 Flight Manual 3 hours
- Low Visibility Operations Course 1 day
- Procedures training (CPT) 8 hours
- UPRT Course 4 hours
Synthetic Flight Training
- System Integration Training (FBT) 16 hours
- Full Flight Simulator Training (FFS) 36 hours
- Proficiency Check(App.9) 4 hours
Training carried out in the Aeroplane 1 day
(Including Pre-Flight Inspection training)
